It is a good idea to look at all the options and make sure that the computer you are going to buy is right for you and will last you a long period of time. Below is a listing of helpful tips, guide, and secrets for what to look for, how to buy, and ask when buy a pc. Buy a new computer or purchase a used / refurbished pc (how to, tips, guide, and secrets)? This will depend on what your budget is for purchasing a used computer and how you are going to use your pc. Obviously, a used computer will be inexpensive, but it will come with a short period of time warranty or even no warranty at all. If you are looking for a reliable computer where its use will be critical, you should stay away from used computers. If the computer is just for enjoyment, buying used can be a good option for you. Tips on buying a used computer: 1. Consider buying brand name computer first. Usually the quality of the big company is better than the no name computers. The quality computer can last much longer time. 2. Ensure that the computer has no physical damage by inspecting the ports as well as the inside and outside of the case. 3. Ensure the warranty is transferable by the computer manufacturer if there is still some warranty left. Many manufacturers will not transfer the computer warranty. 4. If there is no manufacturer warranty left, it is better to ask for a short period of warranty. If there is nothing wrong during this period, you computer will be ok. 5. It is important to have the paper work done. This is because if it is a stolen computer, you should have the proof that you bought it from someone else. 6. Make a physical check to see if the installed programs boot up and perform correctly and all graphics driver, video driver, sound drivers, mouse, monitor, keyboard, USB, CD, DVD, and disk drives are also working properly. 7. Finally, if possible, ask for the backup for operating system, software, drivers installed, which will be vital important for your re-installation of your operating system in future. Tips on buying a new computer: 1. Consider a brand name computer. But if you want to save some money, you can go for unknown brand names and usually the parts will not be that poor. 2. Check the warranty. One year is average, three is better. Is it a home support, store support or telephone support? If it is a telephone technical support, try the number to see if you get constant busy signals. 3. Consider buying your computer locally if the price is anywhere near what you can get online. 4. Consider how you will use the computer. It will help you determine what type of minimum requirements the computer needs to have. It is waste of money to buy an expensive computer with features you are not going to use. 5. Don’t buy a computer that just meets your needs. Go a little above just in case you will need them in future, especially, the memory, hard disk, and processor, CPU. But, never gone too far because the price of computers will go lower. 6. Finally, if you have the license for your old pc’s operating system, you can buy a computer without OS. In this way, you can save some money. Conclusion As always with making a big purchase, you need to find what you really need and then research and shop around for prices. Understanding what your price range is will keep you from overspending.

This is my overview on the HP G50-112NR Notebook PC. I will give you a hands-on look at the laptop and the box. I got this laptop for $349 at Office Depot during Black Friday 2008. I hope you will enjoy my hands-on overview and please remember to subscribe! rate! comment! Feel free to ask any questions about the laptop. Here are the specifications on the box as well as some other valuable details: * Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual-Core Mobile Processor T3200 (2.0 ghz) * 160 GB (5400RPM) Hard Drive * 3072MB DDR2 SDRAM (2 Dimm) * Super Multi 8X DVD+-R/RW with Double Layer Support * Windows Vista(R) Home Premium (32-bit) with Service Pack 1 * 15.4″ Diagonal WXGA High-Definition brightview Widescreen Display * 802.11b/g WLAN * 5-in-1 Digital Media Reader * 6-Cell Lithium-Ion Battery * Conexant High Definition smartaudio 221 (speakers/microphone) * NO Built-In Webcam * Three (3) USB Ports CONCLUSION: I would recommend this laptop. While it may not be well-known as far as HP laptops go, it’s definitely a worthy alternative to the much more expensive HP Pavillion pc’s. It does have drawbacks as it does NOT have a built-in webcam, has a glossy screen and surface (attracts reflections and fingerprints), and has only three USB ports. However, it does have a nice screen and speakers. My final grade for this computer will be a 86%.
